Position Overview
The Student Advisor will provide guidance and support to students throughout their educational
journey at the Emanon Institute. This role involves assisting students in navigating the program,
providing academic and personal guidance, and ensuring they have access to the necessary
resources to succeed. The Student Advisor will play a critical role in fostering a positive and
supportive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
Student Guidance and Support:
o Offer personalized support to students, addressing their academic, personal, and
logistical needs to help ensure a successful educational experience.
o Help students understand program requirements, course choices, and academic
policies.
Program Navigation:
o Assist students in navigating the online learning platform, including registering
for courses, accessing resources, and managing their schedules.
o Provide details about available support services, including tutoring, test prep, and
counseling.
Academic and Personal Advising:
o Provide academic guidance to assist students in setting goals, creating study
plans, and enhancing their overall performance.
o Offer personal support and encouragement to help students overcome challenges
and stay motivated throughout their studies.
Workshops and Events:
o Organize and lead workshops, informational sessions, and events centered on
academic success, time management, and personal growth.
o Work with faculty and staff to boost student involvement and participation in
campus events.
Data Collection and Reporting:
o Keep precise records of student interactions and progress, ensuring confidentiality
and adherence to privacy laws.
o Prepare reports on student feedback, challenges, and outcomes to guide program
improvements.
Qualifications
Education:
o A Bachelor’s degree in Education, Counseling, Social Work, or a related field. A
Master’s degree is a plus.
Experience:
o Minimum of 2 years of experience in student advising, counseling, or a related
role within an educational setting.
o Familiarity with online learning environments and educational support services.
Skills:
o Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport
with students from diverse backgrounds.
o Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize
tasks effectively.
o Problem-solving skills and a compassionate approach to supporting students
through challenges.
