Position Overview
The Mentor will provide individual support and guidance to students at the Emanon Institute,
helping them set goals, monitor their progress, and stay motivated throughout their educational
journey. This role is vital in creating a supportive and encouraging environment that empowers
students to reach their academic and personal goals.
Key Responsibilities
One-on-One Support:
o Provide individualized mentorship to students, addressing their unique needs and
challenges.
o Build strong, trusting relationships with mentees to foster a safe space for open
and honest communication.
Goal Setting and Tracking:
o Help students establish realistic academic and personal goals and develop action
plans to reach them.
o Regularly track and assess progress toward goals, offering constructive feedback
and making adjustments as necessary.
Encouragement and Motivation:
o Provide encouragement and support to help students overcome challenges and
stay motivated.
o Celebrate student achievements and milestones, promoting a sense of
accomplishment and confidence.
Resource Provision:
o Provide students with resources, tools, and strategies to enhance their learning
experience and address any challenges they may encounter.
o Guide students in utilizing available support services, such as tutoring and
counseling.
Professional Development:
o Participate in training and workshops to enhance mentoring skills and stay
informed about best practices in education and student support.
o Partner with faculty and staff to coordinate mentoring efforts with educational
goals and student requirements.
Qualifications
Education:
o A Bachelor’s degree in Education, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field.
Relevant experience may substitute for formal education.
Experience:
o Minimum of 2 years of experience in mentoring, tutoring, counseling, or a related
role within an educational setting.
o Familiarity with online learning environments is a plus.
Skills:
o Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to connect with
students from diverse backgrounds.
o Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple mentees
effectively.
o A compassionate and empathetic approach to supporting students through their
educational journey.
